I am taking the SC car.I am sure it is a big event as it is in Bowling Green, KY so yeah will need to be fully copliant, but I think there is a bracket class. God I hope so
*S&W Racecars cage for 95-99 Monte... I'd actually fit the xTSM class, aside from not being a RWD, if I swapped the Air-Air I/C back in. Probably wouldn't be competitive just yet, but I'd like to see them squirm.
My only hesitation is that it's a big "gate-keeper" club, from my year of monitoring their forum. I might show up for fun to T&T in an open class, if I have a cage by then (S&S 90's W-body one when I get time).
For launching in street trim with a s/c, you can pre-load just a bit at staging, then roll from that point to full throttle over ~1-2sec as traction permits. The tires will screech some at a track, but a 1.9-2.1 is the good typical range for most folks, with occasional freaks getting 1.8-1.9 success (my best on 2nd-hand Nitto 555R's was maybe mid-1.9's with my GenV/2.7/XP/3.29 setup at Norwalk).
You should be able to modulate the throttle a bit better to get at least a 2.0 with practice. The Mustang is probably about all that can get, they're not too impressive without work.
The first runs were so so. 13.5@104, couldn't launch for shit! 2.4 60' was the best I got. Then I look things over and realize my front shocks are all worn out. Ordered some KYB's from Rockauto on sale ($70 shipped), will be installing those and see what I can do next time.
Ya... I'm having fun working on mine, but mostly going to hit events for all cars. The big 3800 ones from ClubGP days are gone, aside from one in Detroit.
