@  ejguillot : (01 November 2019 - 02:23 AM)

It should be possible, you might want to get a surplus connector so you can hook the fan motor to a battery.

If your Monsoon 6x9"s are blown, you can replace with stock 2 ohm models, or try using aftermarket 4 ohm versions. A few have had success using aftermarket; others have run into problems, or not liked the sound. It seems that using stock replacements is the easiest way to get good results at a reasonable price.

I just finished installing the replacement Monsoon's. Sounds awesome again, and you can't beat the price for the stock replacements (around $70 for the pair!) My originals lasted 5.5 years, so if these do as well, I'll be happy.

Wonder what the impedance to a 4ohm 3 way 6x9 would be if you cut the wires to the mid and tweeter???

i have a question and maybe someone can point me to a post that already has the info. If I put after market speakers in, there are 4 wires for the stock 6x9 and tweeter, but on the after market there's only 2 hook ups. Just wondering the best way to hook these new 2 -ohms up and finally get some good sound back there.

I just received a pair of OEM replacement 6x9's from GM Parts Direct. $30.65 each plus $17.69 S&H to my location for a total of $78.99. I doubt there is any speaker available with equal to or better sound for that money, add in the plug and play factor and my mind was made up for replacing with OEM.

All links I tried here were broken. Also, GM rear speakers are now 80+ each side. What's the deal these days?

I just installed Sony 4-ways in the wifes Regal last night. Sounds great and they were only like $60 at Walmart.

In my car I have been running the Pioneer 4-ways for probably 4 years. No issues and they sound great too.
