Sweet!

@  dezldave961 : (07 May 2020 - 04:14 PM)

Got bored and started making build video...

@  dezldave961 : (04 May 2020 - 04:05 AM)

I need to hunt down the little black trim bar that's at the top edge of the GS rocker panel cover, for driver's side between rear door and wheel well.

@  ejguillot : (03 May 2020 - 02:42 AM)

I've been on there too. I hope this forum is kept open, there's too much info to allow it to be lost!

@  dezldave961 : (24 April 2020 - 10:25 PM)

I've been monitoring GrandPrixForums and 3800Pro (don't have FB)... also hopped on TurboBuick, but 99% GN chatter from boomers

@  ejguillot : (19 April 2020 - 02:33 PM)

Everyone at home, plenty of free time.

@  ejguillot : (19 April 2020 - 02:33 PM)

Nobody posting? Why not?

@  ejguillot : (27 March 2020 - 05:19 PM)

Congrats on the Comp G GTP!

@  crossout : (25 March 2020 - 05:49 PM)

Wow this thing has died off I just myself 05 Comp G 3 weeks ago way different than my 2000 regal gs that I had it rusted out to hell strunt towers. :D :D

@  dezldave961 : (20 March 2020 - 04:18 PM)

Pulled turbo engine, prepping MP112 setup... also doing some work-from-home stuff

@  tpivette : (19 March 2020 - 08:57 PM)

So far so good. Still working, fortunately.

@  ejguillot : (16 March 2020 - 03:46 PM)

how's everyone doing? With coronavirus and all that?

@  tpivette : (25 February 2020 - 02:35 AM)

Just got my GS back on the road. Wife is pressuring me to sell it... don't know if I want to or not

@  monte0 : (17 February 2020 - 05:04 AM)

Popped on to see how things are. Been a couple years...

@  ejguillot : (14 January 2020 - 10:36 PM)

Hope the new year is treating everyone well..

@  ejguillot : (16 December 2019 - 01:55 AM)

Hi all. Decade is coming to a close... I'm feeling a little old!

@  M_Dogg : (05 December 2019 - 11:20 PM)

Cheers!

@  ejguillot : (02 December 2019 - 01:13 AM)

Hi there. Some of us are working to keep these cars alive and running. Glad you had a good 15 year run.

@  opera_bob : (30 November 2019 - 08:39 AM)

Every time I see an Old Buick I have major respect for it. I know what kind of torque these cars make.

@  opera_bob : (30 November 2019 - 08:38 AM)

I sold my 2002 GS back in 2017. She was falling apart all over the place. So I sold her and bought a 2017 Focus RS in 2017.

ive been confused about this, am i gonna lose power if i put on headers, 3" downpipe and to catback(most likely 2.5) but probably wont do much else besides 180 tstat, AL plugs.....like will i lose power if i put on headers and dont drop pulley size or no?

Dropping power by adding mods is not an unusual occurrence. It is all part of combating KR. What you will be doing is adding additional airflow in and out, which may "look" like a reduction in power until it is tuned for the differences.

With a proper tune, it will allow you to run more timing, less KR, and more power. It ALL comes down to tuning the car man. No matter what you change - the PCM will try to compensate the best it knows how. No Tuning = no good changes.

on my current exhaust setup, i have u-bend delete, 2.5 in pipes from the cat back into a magnaflow muffler w/3 inch outlets. it is pretty loud and drone-ey at low speeds and sounds nice at higher RPMs. i am waiting on a member to tear down his exhaust for a header install. i am buying his 3 inch Wild DP. will that make the exhaust louder still?

It will, you just have the choose the option on the d/p to be a 3" downpipe that goes down to 2.5 bolt-in at the rear

Go to http://www.gmpartsdirect.com and search for 12498617. Do not get the exhaust hanger listed on that page though. Go to page 1 of this thread and read about the one you need. I think pace performance parts also sells it, but I'm not sure.

Any chance of running the exhaust over the suspension? I live in a pot-hole ridden state and am worried about ground clearance issues.

Just installed the 3'' hogan catback with the magnaflow straight thru muffler.. Now im replacing my factory exhaust since its developing leaks and progressively getting louder, thought this would be a nice upgrade.. and it is if your on a drag strip all day. The exhaust is waaayyy too loud! Its just a matter of time before the cops get wise to me. Dont get me wrong im diggin it for a minute.. the car has nice performance boost but the drone on my daily highway commute is awfull, currently in search of quieter performance muffler, hogan performance had no suggestions so any here would be appreciated.

Get a big, long muffler, as big as you can fit. That's usually a 20" or 22" case length. Maybe a resonated tip, too. Probably want to go chambered with the muffler.

Hey anyone? I have my 98 n/a (123000 mi.)with an exhaust leak which may be the resonator but haven't had time as I have been in almost constant rain or snow the last 3 weeks so no time for on the back asphalt checkout. if it is the resonator my question is this...I have a 04 gs and am thinkin' about swapping from downpipe back onto the 98 and going gmpp for the 04 staying at 2.5 to the tips but would like a 2.5 downpipe with ubend delete bolt on pipe in SS up front. saw what hogan had,not interested.any suggestions? I like stealth not noise or drone. got that in my old hot rod.I guess what i'm saying is a nearly stock replacement but some freer flowing ehaust with little or no restrictions. stock head pipes no headers. will i expect to have to do a retune for the different seasons if so and how and where. anything else that i may have missed?? Thanks advance.
