I would venture to guess strut mounts. Depending on age of the car and your intentions on keeping it, I'd probably just replace them both, on both sides

yup, struts mounts are going.

Mine were so bad in the GTP that every decent size bump they would clunk and bang. It was bad.

It's getting worse the longer I put it off. Do I just have to replace the strut mounts or the hole strut ? The struts still seem to be pretty good.

You can just do the mounts, but if you have a good bit of miles on the struts. You might as well change them.
But if there fine, leave them alone. Atleast you will have some practice if/when they do go bad..lol

I had this issue in my 97 LS. For awhile I thought that when I hit a bump, the exhaust was hitting the lateral links, (adjustable toe links) in the rear. Helpful topic, Helpful replies, Thanks guys!

not hard at all. pull the back seat out unless u have room to reach it thru your trunk but once u pull the rear seat out its pretty much a 30min/each job on dropping them both out. the two strut bolts on the spindle on the lower part of the strut should be easy to get out, if not just use a lil penetrating oil and u'll be fine. me personally, i would change the struts also if u never changed them b4.so at least it wont be on your concience.

If you gotta dig into it might as well do everything instead of half of it....because one day ur have to do the other half.

Before you go looking at the strut mounts, check your rear sway bar end links. I was getting a clunk over bumps and the culprit was a worn/damaged link. Changing those is much easier than checking a strut mount.
