Looking to see if anyone has the stock speaker part number for the tweeter in the back. I can't find them ANYWHERE online. Everything is 4 ohm and I want the stock 2 ohm speakers.

If you either have the two small tweeters/mids in the back and want to get rid of them let me know. I sold mine a few years ago :(.

Those aren't tweeters, those are subs. It's a 3 inch sub and 6x9 components.

Well I went to pick n pull today and grabbed the 3" and it didn't do jack. The rear sounds horrible and I replaced the foam surrounds on the 6x9's.

Now I'm not sure if the monsoon amp is junk now or what. The only thing that sounds halfway decent are the fronts.

I can't really find cheap 2 ohm speakers either. While at pick n pull the one regal that I pulled the 3" from had aftermarket 4 ohms. I just don't remember the speakers sounding this bad.

And when I say sounds like crap.. i mean a wet fart. there is literally NO bass coming out of the 6x9s.

Could they be wired out of phase?...that make the rear channels sound like crap. We're the 6x9s a stock set? If the speakers are wired in wrong you could create more draw from ohms than what the amp can push.

They're wired right. They have the factory clips that clip into the rest of the system.

Pretty sure I narrowed it down to the amp being blown/jacked up. No mater what I do there is almost zero bass coming out of the back.

Going by this video on youtube mine don't even move.. at all.

I wonder if the 4 2 ohm speakers (kenwood 6x9's and some pioneer 3") blew the amp. it just sounds horrible.

Anyone have a monsoon amp they want to sell? I had one in my junked 99 LS but I must have left it in the car.

The crossover and all that is in the amp correct ? So unless your deck is jacked up then the amp would be the next in line

Have you taken the 6x9 off the curcit?...try running just the 6x9. If there is still no low end signal then Bob is right I would trace the signal. Check the settings on the deck....if there is still no low end signal the amp is powered by a high pass signal so just tap to the wires feeding the amp....if it sounds better than that's a faulty amp forsure.

I already swapped the speakers and swapped the deck. It's a stock deck and i have no need/want to get an aftermarket deck. I took the monsoon deck from my 99 LS and it's the same.

I've never messed with the amp ever or the wiring. When I put the kenwoods in I took off the wiring and soldered it to the kenwood. I tried to run the 6x9 by itself without the 3" and it sounds the same. almost nothing coming out.

Not sure what you mean by taking the 6x9 off the circuit..

I was talking about testing the channel without the 6x9 attached to see if there would be any change..if there is a change than atleast it's not the amp or stereo. But if there is no change then I would test the rear channels from the head unit or stereo. Connecting a speaker between the stereo and amp would test if there is functionality between the head unit and amp....if the speaker works than there is an issue with the amp....if it still sounds like crap then it's the deck....this is to test the head units rear channel or the head units amp as it is feeding the monsoons amp a high level signal....so the problem could be at the source...sorry...I guess I could have cleared that up before hand.

Well I already swapped the decks and there was no change. I'm not even sure how to find the wire to the 6x9's bypassing the amp.

Also. for giggles I took the 5 1/4" monsoon front speaker from my 99 LS and hooked it up. No change.. sounded the same as the 6x9.. actually worse.

Right now there's more bass in the front speakers than both of the rear combined.

This is when I wish I kept the wiring diagram for the monsoon setup....I would say since you have swapped the deck out and your still on stock wiring that it's the amp.....saddly I threw mine away or I would have sent it your way....

Still looking for ONE stock 6x9 that's not blown. I found two lucerne 2 ohm Harmon 6x9's at pick n pull a few weeks ago. One was blown :(. Other sounds great.

So if you have one, even if the foam is ripped, let me know.

Yeah I think it was one of the speakers were blown. I don't think the amp was the fix. The reason it sounded like arse was I only had one speaker that was working in the back.

I ended up getting a set of 2 ohm BMW 3 series 6x9's on Ebay last night for $50.

Great find for 50 bucks....I hope it works out, nothing is worse than having to listen to a stereo that is on the fritz.....its like having a blind date with an insanely beautiful woman with man hands and she wants to massage your neck.....Yikes!

I sold my stockers a few years ago for $50. Guy was local so he just came to the house and picked them up.
