How is everyone doing tonight?

@  scottydoggs98 : (09 July 2017 - 12:52 PM)

some of the 99 pcms will work take a 01 bin, those you can change the vin # ive found.

@  scottydoggs98 : (09 July 2017 - 12:50 PM)

the vin is kept in the pcm, you cant change the vin @ with dhp on 01 up cars, so if you use a the cars pcm with dhp it will retain the cars vin#. so if you flash a new bin to the pcm, its vin stays put.

@  RacingRegal36 : (08 July 2017 - 11:05 PM)

i need a bin that will work with this vin: 1g4cu541914206781

So a while back me and my buddy found a grand prix gtx in the junkyard and grabbed the supercharger,180* thermostat and the rocker arms. It must have been a stage 3 gtx because it had the 3.5 Magnuson pulley on it and other things. But my main question is if can't seem to find any markings indicating the rocker arms are 1.8s. Also if it would be ok to install them onto my regal not knowing the order they came off the gTX grand prix I have the rocker arms, pedestals, and the pushrods.

Only zzp made modified stock rockers. The rest of them are billet aluminum.
What makes you think these are 1.8s?

Well I was just wondering because I thought the stage 3 slp package for the gTX came with 1.8 ratio rockers.

Unless the GTX was different

http://www.motorolog...SX-brochure.pdf

Unfortunately I never found a GTX brochure to be 100% sure

BUT

The should be made by SLP and look like those In the GSX brochure if the GTX you found has em

Ive seen them they look identical to stock ones yet the gtx we took them off of was a stage 3 car we think because it had the 3.5 magnuson pulley which only came on stage 3 cars. The car had been debaged but had the slp hood and everything.

1.8's only came on the Buick LSX and there was no "LSX" for the Grand Prix, they had the SE and GP  with the 3.1 engine but I don't see where 1.8's were intro'd to these on the literature.

The GTX stands for Gran Tourismo Experimental where the GSX stands for Grand Sport Extreme and LSX stands for Luxury Sport Extreme.

Here's what you got for the Pontiack GTX...  you may have to click on them to enlarge so as to read.  And check this out, no mention of 1.8's.... http://artandspeed.c...-Grand-Prix-GTX

More than likely a misprint or the cut from the LSX portion and pasted it in the GSX portion by mistake or by design.... poor graphic artist.  I would only trust the manufacturer's brochure, not some cut and paste job from a franchisee making a facsimile.
