@  Marchi1 : (12 July 2017 - 02:35 AM)

How is everyone doing tonight?

@  scottydoggs98 : (09 July 2017 - 12:52 PM)

some of the 99 pcms will work take a 01 bin, those you can change the vin # ive found.

@  scottydoggs98 : (09 July 2017 - 12:50 PM)

the vin is kept in the pcm, you cant change the vin @ with dhp on 01 up cars, so if you use a the cars pcm with dhp it will retain the cars vin#. so if you flash a new bin to the pcm, its vin stays put.

@  RacingRegal36 : (08 July 2017 - 11:05 PM)

i need a bin that will work with this vin: 1g4cu541914206781

@  RacingRegal36 : (08 July 2017 - 10:33 PM)

ISS got shortened during install somehow and had to lengthen back to size.

@  Tobias05 : (22 June 2017 - 01:15 AM)

...if I am able to bolt down both ends with little resistance than I would imagine it is properly seated?

@  Tobias05 : (22 June 2017 - 01:14 AM)

Swapped rack and pinion, not sure if ISS is seated.

Some random data I decided to pay attention to tonight.. I still have the factory untouched air box on my 04 gs, while cruising tonite ext temp was 41°-42°, ats shown on scan master was 50°-52°. Pulled into driveway and after idling for ten minutes it rose to 110°. Just thought I'd share, will be in installing zzp CAI at some point soon be interesting to see the difference if any..

wow a 50+ deg increase?.....better keep cruising around....dont stop anywhere.....lol.... I wonder what the fender intake temps would be vs a thermo wrapped box?....I know inside my SLP box I put some thermo shield material I had laying around....never thought about before and after readings.

Yep, normal.  Wait until the outside temps get up into the 80's.  You'll see some big numbers while sitting still.  But they will drop off pretty quickly once you are rolling again.

Its heat soak...if you wrap your airbox and F-duct in Reflectix or other reflective material you can greatly slow down the rate of heat soak.  I did a post about it about 10-12 years ago. lol  Used both a gutted airbox, open cone, and I think also my MSP airbox.  Its been a while....

That brand sounds fimiliar, I used some reflective heat shield material I got from summit when I was doing my diy oven for powder coating...I also opened up my slp box's inlet to the fender hole and sealed the opening with a thick rubber seal....I was thinking I would pull some numbers today but the wife took the regal as her gtp is getting an oil change....I was thinking of adding a larger filter as the slp setup uses a smaller cone.

Used to be able to get Reflectix at Lows, not sure if you can still get it there.  Its cheap, basically reflective bubble wrap.  Jack44 even made an intake out of it back in the day.

my question to the OP is why the zzp CAI? Unless you are going for aesthetics go for a chheap DIY route of PVC or the flex tubing you can get at intense.
