wow a 50+ deg increase?.....better keep cruising around....dont stop anywhere.....lol.... I wonder what the fender intake temps would be vs a thermo wrapped box?....I know inside my SLP box I put some thermo shield material I had laying around....never thought about before and after readings.

sounds normal to me. it wont matter what you do to it, thats life under the hood of a 3800.

Yep, normal. Wait until the outside temps get up into the 80's. You'll see some big numbers while sitting still. But they will drop off pretty quickly once you are rolling again.

Its heat soak...if you wrap your airbox and F-duct in Reflectix or other reflective material you can greatly slow down the rate of heat soak. I did a post about it about 10-12 years ago. lol Used both a gutted airbox, open cone, and I think also my MSP airbox. Its been a while....

Used to be able to get Reflectix at Lows, not sure if you can still get it there. Its cheap, basically reflective bubble wrap. Jack44 even made an intake out of it back in the day.

my question to the OP is why the zzp CAI? Unless you are going for aesthetics go for a chheap DIY route of PVC or the flex tubing you can get at intense.
