I need to have the instrument cluster repaired for my '98 Buick Regal GS. The gauges work, but all of the LED readouts quit.

A while back I had found a webpage on how to DIY repair it yourself. I tried to do that, but the diodes were tiny surface mount ones and I couldn't get it to work. Then I bought a replacement cluster from a junk yard and the LEDs won't light up on that either...

I have seen eBay auctions that provide this service....have any of you used them before? Any recommendations as far as where to send it for repair?

I haven't use anyone on Ebay for this but I did use a guy on ebay to retro fit the stock radio to plug in my smart phone.

I used a place called Zepco here locally. They specialize in clusters. Kind of pricey though

Did a search under DIC Repair and came up with this for you, click on link ......

http://www.regalgs.o...hl=+dic +repair

also, if you're going to interchange parts with another GS, parts are compatible (plug and play) as follows:

1997.5  and 1998

1999 and 2000

2001 and 2002

2003 and 2004

Picture in that thread by SuperDave. I once watched him repair another member's cluster at a car show in about 40 minutes including removal and re-install. The guy is amazing.
