Sweet!

@  dezldave961 : (07 May 2020 - 04:14 PM)

Got bored and started making build video...

@  dezldave961 : (04 May 2020 - 04:05 AM)

I need to hunt down the little black trim bar that's at the top edge of the GS rocker panel cover, for driver's side between rear door and wheel well.

@  ejguillot : (03 May 2020 - 02:42 AM)

I've been on there too. I hope this forum is kept open, there's too much info to allow it to be lost!

@  dezldave961 : (24 April 2020 - 10:25 PM)

I've been monitoring GrandPrixForums and 3800Pro (don't have FB)... also hopped on TurboBuick, but 99% GN chatter from boomers

@  ejguillot : (19 April 2020 - 02:33 PM)

Everyone at home, plenty of free time.

Hi all. Decade is coming to a close... I'm feeling a little old!

@  M_Dogg : (05 December 2019 - 11:20 PM)

Cheers!

@  ejguillot : (02 December 2019 - 01:13 AM)

Hi there. Some of us are working to keep these cars alive and running. Glad you had a good 15 year run.

@  opera_bob : (30 November 2019 - 08:39 AM)

Every time I see an Old Buick I have major respect for it. I know what kind of torque these cars make.

@  opera_bob : (30 November 2019 - 08:38 AM)

I sold my 2002 GS back in 2017. She was falling apart all over the place. So I sold her and bought a 2017 Focus RS in 2017.

Hello, I have a '98 Buick Regal GS and am considering buying/fixing a '98 Regal LSE. I was surprised to find that it has a S/C 3800 engine like my GS. Did some (all?) the LSE models come with the supercharged engine?

The guy removed the S/C to use on his Ford Ranger project, so I'll need to find a good used one. I may have to post a WTB ad for one soon.

Also, it is two-tone red/grey. The guy says it's a GS, but the tail light says LSE on it, so I'm not sure if it's a GS or LSE in reality.

You'll want to check the VIN 8th digit:

K is 3800 NA, a LS/LSE

1 is 3800 SC. a GS/GSE

In either case, it's possible the LS trunk lid was put on a GS, or a GS engine/top swap was done on an LS.

Thanks for the info. I ended up passing on buying the car and decided to focus my efforts on the GS I already own.

I've had the GS since 2009 when I got the car from my twin brother. We picked the car up in Bozeman Montana back in 2004 or so. He had been into W body cars for quite a while and even had a 1990 Cutlass Supreme that he had converted to turbo and manual transmission using parts from a turbo Grand Prix! He sold that and moved onto the Regal GS and had done a few things to it, but passed away in 2009. He had been working on rebuilding the car at the time, so I finished it (suspension rebuild mostly).

Since then, I've added some mods like a ZZP 3.4" mod pulley, ZZP downpipe, ZZP 1.0 ECU, ZZP aluminum radiator, ZZP aluminum trans pan, JMB fender-well intake, and a fuel pump rewire/relay kit from PRJ. I've also switched the car to use regular green coolant and Dex VI trans fluid. I deliver pizza in it while I am going to school and the car has been very reliable and fun.

Right now the car is down while I fix the brakes. It is getting F-body fronts and the rears are staying stock. I got new calipers from Rock Auto and am in the process of painting them now with the Duplicolor kit. I still have a few parts on hand that I would like to install someday, like the ZZP 1.9 rockers, and a few other little things that I am forgetting at the moment.

edit: I am mostly into the turbo Dodge cars of the 80s and 90s. I have several of those: Omni GLH Turbo, Shelby Lancer, Spirit R/T, Shelby CSX, and my daily driver Caliber SRT-4.
