Hey, chuggin' along. Just finished a big overhaul on my turbo build after 12yrs.

@  Nateteo : (12 April 2021 - 05:56 PM)

literally, the last time I logged in was 3 years ago hows everybody doing

@  dezldave961 : (12 April 2021 - 04:43 PM)

Ya, they do open bracket at GS Nationals. I may go if I'm free, just to attend, even if there's no cage, yet.

@  Marchi1 : (12 April 2021 - 01:32 PM)

I am taking the SC car.I am sure it is a big event as it is in Bowling Green, KY so yeah will need to be fully copliant, but I think there is a bracket class. God I hope so

@  dezldave961 : (08 April 2021 - 01:50 PM)

*S&W Racecars cage for 95-99 Monte... I'd actually fit the xTSM class, aside from not being a RWD, if I swapped the Air-Air I/C back in. Probably wouldn't be competitive just yet, but I'd like to see them squirm.

@  dezldave961 : (08 April 2021 - 01:48 PM)

My only hesitation is that it's a big "gate-keeper" club, from my year of monitoring their forum. I might show up for fun to T&T in an open class, if I have a cage by then (S&S 90's W-body one when I get time).

@  dezldave961 : (07 April 2021 - 08:12 PM)

Oh, is the TurboBuick thing om, again? That's what I initially started my build overhaul for last year. Might be able to get out there, finally.

@  Marchi1 : (07 April 2021 - 02:53 PM)

Dave there is a Buick only event in May in Bowling Green...

@  dezldave961 : (04 April 2021 - 02:51 PM)

For launching in street trim with a s/c, you can pre-load just a bit at staging, then roll from that point to full throttle over ~1-2sec as traction permits. The tires will screech some at a track, but a 1.9-2.1 is the good typical range for most folks, with occasional freaks getting 1.8-1.9 success (my best on 2nd-hand Nitto 555R's was maybe mid-1.9's with my GenV/2.7/XP/3.29 setup at Norwalk).

@  dezldave961 : (03 April 2021 - 06:11 PM)

You should be able to modulate the throttle a bit better to get at least a 2.0 with practice. The Mustang is probably about all that can get, they're not too impressive without work.

@  ejguillot : (02 April 2021 - 01:12 PM)

I wasn't the only one having problems launching, There was a 2015 Mustang 5.0 on drag radials whose best time was a 12.9 after 3 tries or so.

@  ejguillot : (02 April 2021 - 01:09 PM)

Good news was nothing broke, and no KR on a 2.8" pulley. Will be revising timing tables too.

@  ejguillot : (02 April 2021 - 01:08 PM)

The first runs were so so. 13.5@104, couldn't launch for shit! 2.4 60' was the best I got. Then I look things over and realize my front shocks are all worn out. Ordered some KYB's from Rockauto on sale ($70 shipped), will be installing those and see what I can do next time.

@  dezldave961 : (01 April 2021 - 11:38 AM)

Cool. I may try BMP eventually, based on prep shown in Cleetus videos. Might live in the area again soon, too.

@  Marchi1 : (25 March 2021 - 03:11 PM)

The silver car will be hitting the track in May...Should see better numbers than the last pass 6 years ago

@  Marchi1 : (25 March 2021 - 03:11 PM)

Waiting for numbers.....

@  ejguillot : (25 March 2021 - 01:47 PM)

Hi all, finally taking my project GS to Bradenton Motorsports Park for it's maiden 1/4 mile run.

@  dezldave961 : (22 March 2021 - 01:21 PM)

Ya... I'm having fun working on mine, but mostly going to hit events for all cars. The big 3800 ones from ClubGP days are gone, aside from one in Detroit.

Long time ago a mod was using a blazer fill tube and cap for the power steering. Does anyone remember exactly what year part was used. Tia!

This site's DIY section is a reservoir of valuable info (sorry for the bad pun).  See if this link works.
