Hi there. Some of us are working to keep these cars alive and running. Glad you had a good 15 year run.

@  opera_bob : (30 November 2019 - 08:39 AM)

Every time I see an Old Buick I have major respect for it. I know what kind of torque these cars make.

@  opera_bob : (30 November 2019 - 08:38 AM)

I sold my 2002 GS back in 2017. She was falling apart all over the place. So I sold her and bought a 2017 Focus RS in 2017.

@  opera_bob : (30 November 2019 - 08:37 AM)

Hi Everybody.

@  ejguillot : (15 November 2019 - 08:19 PM)

Anybody get on here anymore?

@  ejguillot : (01 November 2019 - 02:23 AM)

It should be possible, you might want to get a surplus connector so you can hook the fan motor to a battery.

@  Greg2000GS : (01 November 2019 - 01:58 AM)

cooling fan suspect. Is there a way to test it by jumping connector?

@  Fast86GN : (31 October 2019 - 01:23 PM)

I'm here....

@  ejguillot : (27 October 2019 - 01:39 PM)

Let's try to bring this forum back to life a bit... I'll be on fairly often (now that my project Regal is seeing some progress).

Triple Edge no longer selling built transmissions?

18 March 2020 - 08:46 PM

So I was looking into beefing up the trans eventually since the mods I am currently installing should get the car into the mid - low 13s. Everyone usually recommends Triple Edge Performance for one of their rebuilt transmissions to handle the additional power. Well, I went onto their website last night only to read a message stating that after March 31st 2020, they will no longer sell performance rebuilt transmissions. They will, however, continue to sell upgraded parts and rebuild kits for the do-it-yourselfer.

This is a bummer. Besides them, are there any other reputable builders of the 4T65 that would be comparable in performance and reliability? Or should one just purchase their rebuild kit + a single chain kit and input shaft and attempt to rebuild the trans yourself?

Btw, I posted this here since this section gets more “traffic”, and the trans sub-forum literally gets zero.

Bottom hood strut ball diameter size

21 February 2020 - 02:59 AM

Just got my 1997 Regal GS up and running again. Will finally be tagged and back into daily service tomorrow. Been too long.

However, the hood won't stay up. As long as I can remember, I've been using a pole to support the hood when working on the engine. After doing some light research, apparently there are supposed to be a pair of gas struts that hold the hood up. They are mounted on a pair of ball studs on the hood, as well as another pair for the bottom of the struts on the car itself. My bottom ones are broken... and I was wondering if anyone can either take a photo of theirs so I can see what is supposed to be there, or even better, take a measurement of the ball stud so I can drill out the busted ones and order new replacements.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

1997 Regal GS interior restoration

17 October 2019 - 12:45 AM

Finally have some time to start the resurrection of my 1997 Buick Regal GS. Will begin either this weekend, or the following weekend. One of the things that needs DESPERATE attention is the interior. From 2013 to 2017, my wife drove this car daily and hauled the kids (newborn - 4 year old daughter and 4-8 year old son) everyday to school, and wherever else they needed to go. Most of the times, she had to drop them off at daycare, where she let them eat (of all things) pancakes and syrup IN THE CAR. Bring your barf bags, as the photos below depict the carnage that came about of such practices...

I decided to go with what I could find on the internet after a few minutes of searching. Anyone heard of these guys? They seem legit, and I will be ordering their mass back carpet in medium grey.

This will be complimented by SummitRacing black cloth racing seats:

I will be completely cleaning the remaining trim pieces with Simple Green and isopropyl alcohol. Hopefully everything turns out great, as I want this interior to not only look awesome, but to smell amazing also.

Any experience or thoughts on this setup will be welcome.
