Somewhat true, but I'm not going to get too real about the demographics of Regal owners past & present. It'd be out of place on a Regal forum, and make people cross-eyed coming from a Regal owner. :blink:

we are also hitting another round of buyers...and the group is again the young crowd and realizing that the older Regal is a bargin and normally better maintained than the GP of the saemarea.

We're now in a preservation community that some may discover, but it's been spread thin and the traffic has shifted away from the initial sharing styles (Tim/Zoom discuss this on ZZP podcasts, when those 4cyl goobers let them talk).

The vehicles themselves dictate the demographic and activity level based on their following. GTP's drew the majority of the L67 crowd, including myself, and current 4/6/8cyl offerings of the last 15yrs are where 99% of our former peers and newcomers have shifted to.

*S&W Racecars cage for 95-99 Monte... I'd actually fit the xTSM class, aside from not being a RWD, if I swapped the Air-Air I/C back in. Probably wouldn't be competitive just yet, but I'd like to see them squirm.

So long story short Christine the GS tried to kill me. Got a new 07 Lacrosse. L26/4t65e non HD, think Lesabre. Ok this is my first trip into dbw setups. Little background I live at 6100 ft,everything is either all up hil or all downhill from me. So took the car on a quick errand to 4500 ft and back to 6100. Car saw very frequent 4 to 8.5+ knock. The only "mod" I've done is 180* tstat and OEM plugs. I looked to try and read the tune tonight it reads as a 2005 lacrosse but is corrupt and cant be opened. Car has 91k I'm debating if the trans is causing the issue. Going up a grade it will not kick down into 3rd and kr spikes to 8.5 to 8.75 if I unlock the converter manually it will finally kick down and kr settles to the 4 range. Mileage is 20ish hwy.

It being an 07 fuel filter is in tank and technically non serviceable
Computer is non tunable
Car has a 2 yr warranty and I know as soon as that is over is when the trans will shell lol.
I'm grasping for anything, any idea how to either kill it under warranty or prolong life and bring back mpg and power that 9* of kr destroys.
Gut the air box?
Port an upper manifold and lower?
Have a 2.5 in dp fabbed up?
Put in a shift kit?
Fluid and filter swap on the trans?

Any ideas or stories u have heard on the new cars would be appreciated. It wont be a bad car once the kinks get worked out. Its already the favorite go to car for gatherings.

Greg, I'm no expert by any means but why is the PCM not tuneable? Any codes in history? Do you what your fuel pressure is?

Little update, it was a bad batch of plugs causing the issue. New autolite plugs and it works alot better, trans is getting worse. New Don Rome stb brackets and front and rear. Next minor upgrade is impala SS dual piston calipers, tubular trailing arms and 9c1 sways. Might spring for a plog too. Looks like a dp would have to be a custom job too.
